What is the process to coat my concrete floor?

2. Receive your Evaluation & Quote

We come out to your home and provide a quote on the spot. We’ll meet you at your property to evaluate your existing concrete floor. The pricing is based on square footage, as well as the condition of your concrete. We will measure your space and evaluate any cracks and pits.

When you are ready, schedule the installation and prepare your space, removing any vehicles, storage boxes, or furniture.

3. Coat Floor in 1 Day

Our professionally trained installation team will install your concrete floor coating. Typically, most spaces can be done in a single day. Larger spaces may require more time, but we will be transparent about this requirement during the evaluation process.

Your floors will be ready to enjoy the same day they are coated!

How Do I Prepare My Floor?

We don’t take shortcuts when it comes to your concrete floor. The application of our floor coating requires some preparation work before it can be completed. This prep work ensures the concrete surface is in a premium condition to allow the coating to adhere properly. We work efficiently to complete this job, while still maintaining high standards. Our team will ensure the area is prepped properly so you get the best results and flooring that will last for many years.

During the prepping process, we’ll do all of the following:

Repair concrete cracks: One of the best things about hiring our team is our ability to repair cracks in your concrete as part of the coatings process. We’ll fix up your concrete so it is even before we move on to the next step of the process.

Grind concrete surface: We use a diamond-bit Lavina grinder to create a coarse and porous surface as well as to remove any weak or deteriorated concrete. Our grinders feature three grinding wheels that work in unison to open the pores of your concrete. We will also use hand grinders to prepare detailed areas and vertical surfaces.

Contain concrete dust: Each of the grinders is used with a high-powered vacuum to contain dust created by the grinding. This ensures the area stays clean.

Remove contaminants: Concrete can absorb contaminants, such as oil, grease, and gas, when they are spilled on its surface. Grinding usually removes surface contaminants, but in instances where they have penetrated deep, we use a degreaser to lift oil from the concrete. Our coating has also been formulated with an oil base, so even if the oil cannot be fully removed, the coating will still bond appropriately.

Remove latent layer: The main purpose of grinding the surface of your concrete is to remove the latent layer that formed when the slab was originally curing. This layer has minimal pores and is the weakest layer of the concrete, making it vital to remove before coating the slab. The latent layer is about 1/16th of an inch thick, so we’ll grind to that depth in order to remove it fully.

Floor Colors

While our floor coatings enhance the function of your concrete floors, they improve the aesthetics as well. You won’t be forced to settle for a concrete color option you aren’t happy with. Instead, we have many options to choose from, making it easy to match the current décor and style of your home (or sports-themed man cave!).

If you don’t see a color you would like to use, we will work with you to create your own custom color. You will also choose the finished feel of your floors. Select either Smooth, Medium, or Rough.
